Block Magnets
Block magnets offer a large contact surface and high holding force, ideal for technical and industrial applications.
Disc magnets
Disc magnets are round neodymium magnets with an excellent size to holding power ratio.
Bar Magnets
Bar magnets are versatile magnets often used in sensors, engineering, and educational applications.
Cube Magnets
Cube magnets are powerful neodymium magnets in a compact cube shape, ideal for technical and creative applications.
Ball magnets
Neodymium sphere magnets combine strong magnetic force with a unique spherical shape and are widely used for experiments, model building, and creative constructions.
Ring Magnets
Ring magnets combine strong holding power with a practical hole in the middle for easy mounting and attachment.
Epoxy coated magnets
Epoxy magnets combine the high holding power of neodymium with a strong protective layer, making them more resistant to moisture, scratches, and daily use.
Self-adhesive Magnets
Self-adhesive magnets feature a strong 3M adhesive layer for durable mounting on flat, clean surfaces.

Neodymium magnets
Neodymium magnets are the strongest permanent magnets you can buy. They are made from an alloy of neodymium, iron and boron (NdFeB) and offer a high holding force relative to their size. At Magnetenspecialist you will find them in every common shape, from a Ø2 mm disc for model making to powerful discs and blocks for industry, in grades N35 to N52.
Which shape suits your application?
| Shape | Characteristic | Often used for |
|---|---|---|
| Disc magnets | Round and flat, the most popular shape | Cabinet doors, model making, displays |
| Block magnets | Rectangular with a large contact surface | Fitting into slots, furniture making, workshop |
| Rod magnets | Cylindrical, chosen by diameter | Sensors, small closures, fitting into drilled holes |
| Cube magnets | Six flat sides | Magnetic boards, constructions, model making |
| Ball magnets | Spherical, attracts from any position | Educational and creative projects |
| Ring magnets | With a straight or countersunk hole | Mounting on a shaft or screwing in place |
Besides the standard NiCuNi coating, we offer epoxy magnets for humid environments, self-adhesive magnets that stick without drilling, and plastic-coated and rubber-coated magnets that prevent scratches. Looking for a magnet you can screw in place with maximum holding force? Take a look at our pot magnets: a neodymium magnet in a steel cup.
How do you choose the right neodymium magnet?
- Holding force: listed with every product. Allow a generous margin, because a rough, painted or thin surface reduces the holding force. Read how holding force is determined.
- Grade: N35 to N52. For the same size, a higher number is stronger. What do N35, N42, N48 and N52 mean?
- Coating: NiCuNi for dry indoor use, epoxy or a casing for humid conditions. Which coating should you choose?
- Temperature: standard neodymium magnets are suitable up to 80 °C.

Frequently asked questions
How strong is a neodymium magnet?
That depends on the size and grade. A small disc holds a few dozen grams, while large discs and blocks hold dozens of kilos. The holding force is listed with every product.
Do neodymium magnets lose their strength?
Hardly, in normal use. A magnet can permanently lose strength if it exceeds its maximum temperature, or if the coating is damaged and the magnet starts to rust.
Can neodymium magnets rust?
The material itself rusts quickly, which is why every magnet has a coating. For humid or outdoor use, choose epoxy or a plastic or rubber casing.
Are neodymium magnets safe?
Magnets are not toys and should be kept out of reach of children. Keep them away from pacemakers, electronics and bank cards. Larger magnets can snap together or onto metal with force; keep your fingers clear.
When will my order be shipped?
Orders placed and paid for before 4 pm on working days are shipped the same working day if in stock. Free shipping within the Netherlands on orders over €45. Consumers have a 30-day cooling-off period.
