What do you use this magnet for?

Powerful: suitable for tools, cables, lamps and heavier objects in workshops and warehouses. The steel pot concentrates the magnetic force on the flat side, giving the magnet much more holding force on steel than the same magnet without a pot. You hang it on a flat steel surface and use the hook to hang something from it. The rubber coating protects the surface the magnet is attached to and provides grip, so it is less likely to slide. Which hook magnet should you choose?

You only achieve the full holding force when the magnet hangs from the underside of a thick steel beam or plate and is loaded straight downwards. It holds considerably less on a vertical wall, as it can slide along the surface. Thanks to the grip of the rubber, however, it is less likely to slide away than a hook magnet with a bare steel pot.

The holding force is not a permitted working load: do not use magnets as the sole means of securing heavy loads for lifting or hanging where a fall could cause injury.
